What We Do

Using our team’s combined experience in public policy, law, government and communications, Issues Management advocates for clients in the support and defense of their interests. The firm’s goal is to help them deal with the public issues and events that affect their bottom lines and their reputations. We give our clients the chance to even the playing field and create strategic advantage.

Based on our client’s need, our work may take different directions. Typically, our combined problem-solving skills are applied in one or more of these areas to create multi-faceted campaigns:

Legislative Advocacy
Regulatory Counseling/Project Management
Environmental Issues Management
Strategic Communication
Grassroots Advocacy and Coalition-Building
Business Development
Crisis Management

Grass Roots Advocacy and Coalition Building

We manage advocacy campaigns on a wide range of issues, using our knowledge of media and politics to develop the best strategic approach. Our use of public opinion research and effective communication skills has shaped public opinion and convinced decision makers at every level of government. From a successful ballot referendum to approvals for an extremely controversial highway project, we use coalition building, press relations, direct mail and political advocacy to successfully promote the goal of our client.

Real Estate Development
A major institute of higher learning hired Issues Management to help it gain approval for new housing for its scholars. The problem? The lands in question abut the site of a Revolutionary War battle. Opponents of the plan mounted a letter-writing disinformation campaign designed to derail the project. Working with our client, its neighbors and historians, Issues Management developed a comprehensive public relations and communications strategy to educate the public and the political players regarding the true nature of the development project and the enhancements being provided.
